Chance of a Boom

Space Shuttle Discovery is scheduled to land at Kennedy Space Center this morning at 11:57am and the flight path will take Discovery right over Sarasota, DeSoto and Highlands counties! Be sure to listen out in these areas for that distinct sonic boom as the shuttle re-enters the Earth's atmosphere at around 11:55 am...the sonic boom might be also be heard in Charlotte and Lee with a lesser chance for Collier. The forecast looks to be a 'go' for Discovery's landing with partly cloudy sky and a SE breeze at 15 mph in store for Cape Canaveral at noontime.

Let us know if you hear the boom! E-mail us at weather@winktv.com

Have a great day!
Lauren
