Brian: It's Groundhog Day! Will Mona and Phil see their shadows?

We're just a few minutes away from those famous weather prognosticators - groundhogs - emerging from their dens and making their yearly predictions. Most of the time (almost 100 times), Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania sees his shadow -- meaning 6 more weeks of winter. Right now in Pennsylvania, there's lights now around and plenty of clouds.. so Phil should not see his shadow! It's the same story here in southwest Florida with plenty of clouds and showers in the Gulf of Mexico pushing onshore; Mona the Groundhog - at The Shell Factory in North Fort Myers - should also not see her shadow. What does this mean? An early end to winter and start of spring! We shall see..

For today, showers around through early afternoon ahead of a cold front. Clouds will decrease late and we should see some sun near sunset.. highs in the mid 70's. For tomorrow, partly cloudy and cooler - lows in the low to mid 50's and highs in the lower 70's.
