Good morning! For the first time in October, there is a chance of rain the forecast today as tropical moisture begins to return to the area. It's still pretty dry near the ground so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the rain you may see later today on the radar evaporates before reaching the ground. That said, I think a few sprinkles or showers are certainly possible today -- especially across Collier County. That chance of rain will expand a little farther north for both Wednesday and Thursday with more clouds around overall for everyone.
Today's forecast:
Naples Mostly Cloudy Isolated Rain; High 85
Bonita Springs Mostly Cloudy Mainly Dry; High 86
Fort Myers Sun & Clouds Mainly Dry; High 87
Cape Coral Sun & Clouds Mainly Dry; High 87
Port Charlotte Partly Cloudy More Humid; High 87
Hendry Co. Mostly Cloudy Isolated Rain; High 86
Glades Co. Partly Cloudy More Humid; High 86
DeSoto Co. Partly Cloudy More Humid; High 85
By Thursday night, a cold front will approach from the north and should sweep the tropical moisture back to the south once again. This will also help keep the moisture associated with Hurricane Paula away from SWFL. We can't ignore this storm though, and I'll have a more full post later.
