Same story with Otto: strengthening storm (now tropical, now longer subtropical -- looks tropical both aloft and at the surface now) but one headed out into the open waters of the Atlantic. Thank the upper level trough for this outcome. Otto may reach hurricane strength before transitioning to an extratropical storm this weekend/early next week out in the Atlantic. No worries for SWFL from this one, though!
