A chilly start to the first day of winter

A crystal clear sky overnight made for perfect viewing weather of the total lunar eclipse! Though you definitely needed to bundle up to head out and witness the eclipse as temperatures dropped into the low to mid 40's across the area early this morning...and you still need that coat with a chilly start in progress for the first day of winter! The winter solstice will occur at 6:38pm this evening, officially ringing in the winter season...but despite the change in season ...highs will be warmer this afternoon into the low 70s, with mid 70s in store for tomorrow afternoon all under abundant sunshine.

Happy winter!
Lauren
