The cold continues...but not for much longer

It's another frigid, bone-chilling start to the day! Record lows were tied in both Ft. Myers and in Naples this morning! A low of 37 degrees in Ft. Myers tied the modern day record set in 1928 (there is a record of 24 degrees from 1894) and a low of 38 degrees in Naples tied the record low established in 1977. Widespread frost was again reported across the area as far west as Naples Park! WINK viewers also reported frost in Lehigh Acres, La Belle, and in Arcadia.

This morning is the last of the extra-cold mornings for the foreseeable future! A change in our surface wind flow to a southerly direction this afternoon will begin the warm-up and tomorrow we can leave the gloves and scarves behind as temperatures will not be nearly as cold with mid 50's along the coast to mid 40's inland.
