It's still cold this morning, but not quite as cold as yesterday. We will have a few spots inland that will flirt with a hard freeze this morning (it's 26 now in Arcadia), but most places inland should avoid that 4 hour period of temps at or below 28 degrees. Along the coast, temps are milder this morning, running 2-4 degrees warmer this morning compared to this time yesterday west of US 41. No records this morning.
Frost will likely be more of a problem over the next couple of hours as there's more moisture in the air this morning and the wind is a bit lighter than yesterday. For this afternoon, unbelievably, we will get a Gulf breeze to kick in like yesterday which should keep the beaches in the upper 50's while inland we make it into the low 60's. Just so unusual to get a Gulf breeze with air temperatures reaching only around 60. What gives? Usually the difference between the over land air temperature and the Gulf temperature has to be 6-8 degrees to force the wind to turn more off of the Gulf. Well, with the Gulf in the upper 40's to low 50's (wow!), the difference in temp will be on the order of 10 degrees.. more than enough to let the sea breeze kick in. Same pattern for Wednesday & Thursday.
