March Meant More Majorly Cold Air!

Over the past few months, many of us across SWFL added to our coat collection and likely pulled those extra blankets out from the back of the closet...and all with good cause as it was record breaking cold that we endured from January all the way through March. Listed below are the chilly specifics...

Naples:

#1 coldest January through March period on record
#1 coldest March on record with an average temperature of 63.6 degrees
(Records date back to 1942)

Ft. Myers:

#2 coldest January through March period on record
#3 coldest March on record with an average temperature of 63.0 degrees
(Records date back to 1902)

Punta Gorda:

#1 coldest January through March period on record
#1 coldest March on record with an average temperature of 62.0 degrees
(Records date back to 1965)

Thus we were certainly deserving of the sunshine and warmth we experienced to ring in the month of April yesterday, and today's forecast is looking just as beautiful with plentiful sunshine and high temperatures in the upper 70's along the coast to mid 80's inland!

Bye-bye cold winter!
Lauren
