Storms Likely Tonight Through Tomorrow, Some Strong to Severe

Showers and thunderstorms will become scattered in nature overnight with rain and storms likely for tomorrow morning into early afternoon. Storms that develop within this time frame will have the capability to become strong to severe. The main threats will include damaging winds, small hail, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall. A moist and unstable atmosphere in combination with an approaching cold front will cause widespread rain and thunderstorms to develop across SWFL late tonight into midday tomorrow. As the cold front pushes across the state tomorrow afternoon, the rainfall and storm threat will come to an end with drying and gradual clearing from north to south. Expect rainfall totals for the event of .50" to 1.00" with 2.00+" possible locally.

Have a good night,
