Brian: Cold front is through, wind gusting 30+ mph through a lot of SWFL...

The strong cold front moved through around 2-4 AM this morning through most of the area and is just clearing southern Collier County now. Behind the front, the wind has turned awfully gusty -- with a wind gust above 30 mph at 5 AM in Punta Gorda! As the dense cold air moves south, expect the wind to remain strong throughout the day to day and, even as we go into the weekend, the breeze will still be noticeable. Temperatures will fall over the next few hours through the 60's and into the 50's north of the Caloosahatchee, with 60's elsewhere. We may just barely make it into the low 70's this afternoon in Collier, otherwise expect highs in the 60's by mid afternoon!

Today's forecast:

Naples  Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 72
Bonita Springs Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 70
Fort Myers Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 69
Cape Coral Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 69
Port Charlotte Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 67
Hendry Co. Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 69
Glades Co. Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 67
DeSoto Co. Becoming Mostly Sunny  Windy; High 67

Even cooler air is on the way for the weekend, when we could set record temperatures both in the afternoon and in the morning! More on this later... Enjoy your Friday!
