Brian: Tomas a weakening tropical storm (for now)...

Good morning! Tomas, once a Category 2 storm in the eastern Caribbean, has weakened to a 50 mph tropical storm as of the 5 AM advisory from the National Hurricane Center. Right now, it is feeling the effects of some strong wind shear but it is possible it will restrengthen to nearly a hurricane by the time it approaches Hispanolia later this week. Tomas is not a threat, though, to southwest Florida as a strong cold front will head in our direction late this week blocking Tomas to the east. More coming up on WINK!
