A 60 acre brush fire is burning right now in the Picayune Strand of Collier County, nearby I-75. The fire started yesterday from a lightning strike and is under control. The wind will be very light overnight, so it is unlikely that any smoke will drift back toward the coast this evening. Visibility may be poor though along the alley first thing tomorrow morning. For tomorrow afternoon, a strong southwest wind is expected to set up once again (near 15 MPH); this will likely fan the flames further and send the oil toward areas along and east of SR-29.
