A few showers continue to move toward the north out of the Gulf of Mexico; most of these are just offshore but a few are brushing the western side of Sanibel and Capitva this morning. There are also a couple of showers a bit to the north near the mouth of Charlotte Harbor. Showers will be diminishing out in the Gulf over the next hour or two as the sun comes up and the air stabilizes over the water (compared to the land.. where the air will destabilize). Still, the chance will be there for some isolated coastal showers through about 8-8:30 AM.
