A batch of heavier storms is moving eastbound toward Lake Okeechobee through Hendry County and south Glades County. There are a few smaller showers and storms through the rest of southwest Florida, but all of the activity is generally east of I-75 as the afternoon Gulf breeze has set in. Expect heavy rain and frequent lightning in these storms as they head deeper inland. Often times as the storms collapse at night a few will build back toward the coast as the outflow boundaries (mini-cold fronts) surge westward from underneath the dying storms. We'll be in the look out for that later this evening. More on your forecast coming later and of course on WINK News starting at 5PM. See you then!
