Good evening! A quick update before our 10 PM newscast on 6 TV: showers and storms are rapidly ending (just about over) across inland southwest Florida now with outflow boundaries to the coast helping to allow a few showers to flare up along and west now of I-75. That pattern will continue through around midnight. We'll be dry for a while but I am watching a large area of showers and storms offshore that is pushing NE toward the central and north Florida coast. Most of this upper level energy should pass well to our north, meaning just a slight increase in early AM rain chances along the coast compared to the last few days.
A chance of morning showers continues through Saturday; by Sunday, the flow should turn northwesterly aloft and drier air should move in -- this should shut down the morning rain chance. I'm still leaning toward a slightly drier day on Sunday, with rain chances picking up again on Monday as a weak front pushes toward the southeast and moisture returns overhead. By Tuesday and Wednesday, a pattern that will favor more storms along the coast in the afternoon will briefly develop.
I'll have the latest on your forecast in just minutes. See you on 6 TV!
