Good afternoon! Showers and storms are mainly on the east coast this afternoon with just a few isolated ones developing over far interior sections of southwest Florida. The southwesterly wind was so strong today that we never got much of a sea breeze effect (one slowly moving east) on the west coast; nor has there been much of an east coast sea breeze yet. This will change a bit later this afternoon and I do expect the potential for some late arriving thunderstorms near Lake Okeechobee late this afternoon into early this evening. Expect the drier weather trend to stick around for both days this weekend, although I still have the chance of some early rain the forecast along the coast for Saturday. Much more on your forecast starting on WINK at 5 PM.
