Lauren: Scattered Storms to Start the Work Week

A late season cold front will attempt to push through the Florida peninsula on Monday. As the front traverses south, it will begin to lose much of it's punch, yet will still provide enough lift to the saturated atmosphere to bring a chance of isolated rain and a few storms along the coast through Monday morning.

The storm activity will become more scattered in nature in the early afternoon hours as daytime heating further destabilizes the atmosphere. Scattered storms will be focused mainly in inland areas for late afternoon/evening due to a northwesterly steering current.

Humid conditions will prevail once again tomorrow with winds becoming breezy in the afternoon. The energy from the frontal boundary will likely wash out over the southern edge of the peninsula late Monday and some slightly drier air will be allowed to settle into much of SWFL on Tuesday, giving us a subtle break from this weekend's oppressive humidity.

More details on your work week forecast coming up on WINK News at 11pm!

Have a great Monday,
Lauren
