Lauren: A cold front pulls in this afternoon and kicks out the rain chances.

Scattered rain with a few thunderstorms moved across SWFL last night and into the first half of our Friday. Greatest rainfall totals came out of Charlotte County with .81 inches in Punta Gorda. Isolated rain still possible especially over Collier until the cold front, which is currently located over the Tampa Bay area, passes through later this afternoon.

As drier and cooler air continues to push in behind the boundary, expect decreasing cloud cover from north to south through the afternoon and into this evening. Friday night plans won't be dampened with a partly cloudy sky becoming mostly clear and lower humidity, but you may want to bring the jacket along as temperatures will cool into the 60's by this evening with mid 50's in our future for early tomorrow morning.

High pressure settles in for our Saturday allowing for a great start to the weekend with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky and despite a cool morning, afternoon highs will rebound to near 80 degrees.

Our next rain event begins to take shape late Sunday, for the details on another round of wet weather tune into WINK News Now at 5pm with Jim and Scott!
