Scott: Still rain in Charlotte County with a few storms. The heaviest rain left the area. Drier for the weekend!

Wow what a rain event! It all started last evening with an outflow boundary from the storms to the north. This boundary moved into swfl around 7:30pm and collided with an unstable air mass over the Gulf. With the westerlies in place as the storms fired up it brought heavy rain over Charlotte and Lee counties through the overnight period. Then this afternoon the cold front arrived to produce more rain across all of swfl. Rainfall totals including today, Bokeelia had 8", Cape Coral 4.20", Gateway 6,75", Fort Myers 5.50", North Fort Myers 7", and Naples only getting 1".

The weekend is here and the rain will be moving out overnight and we should see plenty of sun with temperatures back into the low to mid 70's. Details and rainfall totals starting at 5pm on WINK. Join me at 7pm on WINK..
